before we got out
i had my doubts but walking around in the middle of the town
freedom can be
fun

forget the mortgage and the end of time
we’ll blend together like bleeding lips
and trust that death’ll be our dying wish
come on over to the dark side

so we got out
first thing that we did was hit the hill
top
to gaze upon the city that had given us birth
and listen to the sound of a baby’s crying

and the laughing of the children had gone inside
we wandered through the shadows of the tall streetlights
